Important Information during Bhutan Tour
Bhutan has strict rules for smoking. Smoke or sell tobacco
products are completely band to Bhutan. And the fine is too much and if you are
caught then it involves during prison. So be aware of these rules.
When you enter a Dzongs, you should not wear a cap or hat.
When you enter a holy place or temple, take off your shoes.
Bhutan's official language can speak very much with Hindi and
English and everyone can talk to Bhutan, however. Almost all taxi drivers and
storekeepers can speak English. So this does not have to be a problem.
The people of Bhutan are usually shy and if you want to take
a photo, it is always best to ask them. Most of our experience said yes they
said yes. If you see anyone in the royal family, then you should not have to
take his picture, even if they have to take a public place. Whenever you are
entering into a Lakhang /temple or a Dzong/fort, take a picture with the
permission only. Most Bhutanese foods are like Indian cuisine, but they are
very spicy. They are not cooked pepper, but a lot of dish chilies are made. You
must specify the spice layer when ordering Bhutanese food. You can try some of
these Bhutanese foods, which we like very well. Emma Datse (chili and cheese),
Cava Dhatse (potatoes and cheese) and Shawa Datse (mushrooms and cheese).
